Aerating your lawn is one of the things you need to do to have a healthy, growing lawn. Core aeration is needed due to thatch buildup and soil compaction, two problems that can be caused by a number of things, including heavy use of your yard. When soil compacts, your grass cannot breathe or find much needed nutrients due to the compaction “suffocating” your lawn’s roots. This service is done in the fall. Click here to learn more.
This Service is done in the fall (End of August – December). It’s best when completed around the time of fall Core aeration and overseed.
It helps stimulate growth in existing turf, improves drainage of clay soils, improves the overall soil structure, stimulates microbial activity, breaks down the lawn’s thatch, and neutralizes the soil’s pH and adds much needed micro-nutrients to poor soils.
In our area, Bermuda grass is a weed and can be unsightly in fescue lawns during the winter months as it turns brown. It is also very invasive. Typical weed control products do not control Bermuda grass. We do, however, have a program that can take care of it and keep it under control for you. It requires repeated applications over the summer (its most active time). Call to get an estimate.
Sometimes a lawn needs additional help outside of the lawn care program. Lime helps to adjust the Ph of soil. If the ph of the soil is off, the grass will have a harder time utilizing nutrients. Maintenance applications can be made or a soil sample can be taken to see what is needed.
